Final turning of pecan blank.

I'm working a pecan bowl blank that I roughed out a couple months ago. The blank is now dry enough for the final turning phase. Man that stuff is hard! Lots of extra trips to the grinder. I'm also having a lot of trouble with tear out. I think it will be nice when finished, but it is beginning to test my patience.

Anybody else doing some final turning on this wood?

Yes Doug I am bringing to the next meeting a bowl blank to turn for every one to see how hard this stuff is. Oh the blank is Pecan.

Doug, yours and Richards are the same tree. I got pretty beat up turning that sucker when it was wet. What tool are you using for the finishing cuts?
